NYFW: Tracy Reese

On Sunday afternoon, I had the pleasure of sitting in the audience while Tracy Reese showcased her Spring 2012 collection, in what I like to describe as a fairytale forest. The backdrop of birch trees was magical and whimsical, and the clothes were all that and more. I am obsessed with all the printed platforms, especially the ones that matched the print of the garment that the model was wearing. So clever and very lady like. If you are a floral fiend, there was plenty offer, with delicate prints on shoes, dresses, one pieces, and even parasols.

NYFW: BCBG

So as most of you know (or at least SHOULD know), New York Fashion week is upon us and I am really excited to see what is in store for us for the spring. I know, crazy to think about the flowers blossoming and the weather getting warm again (especially considering summer's recent end), but I get really giddy about flowy dresses and sunglasses.

Here are some of my fav pieces from the BCBG show (one of my favorite designers). Looks like tribal prints are sticking around for a while...I won't complain.

I love this quote from VS Angel Adriana Lima. It's so true. Everyone is prettier when they are happy. And let's be honest, what don't we have to be happy about? It's the weekend! So smile :) What are your plans? I'm kind of excited to just relax for the first half of this weekend. I'm hoping to get some fall shopping in before I head over to Lincoln Center for New York Fashion Week, maybe catch a movie (or watch one of the one's that I have at home from Netflix--Can't Hardly Wait--I love that one!), and just hang. Oh and I am getting my hair done on Saturday afternoon too. So excited to go a nice shade of rich brown for the fall. Sunday is when it gets busy again...I'll be over at LC for the Tracy Reese show. She is amazing, and I'm sure the show will be too! See you all back here on Monday!

Splurge: Valentino

Ummm hellooooo gorgeous handbag that I really need in my life. Seriously this Valentino Rockstud bag is epic. It's got two sets of straps (cross-body and top handles), made of pony hair, and is literally the handbag of all handbags. Amazing for everyday or for that special date night. I'm in love. Funny thing is, I was talking to by bf over the weekend and told him that since he bought himself a VERY nice, BRAND NEW car recently, he should probably buy me a Louis Vuitton....just because he loves me and all. But now that I've spotted this little sucker, I've changed my mind. Valentino all the way. Thanks in advance babe :). A girl can dream can't she?!

Summer Recap

Hope you all had a great long weekend! I can't believe that summer is over. Makes me so sad to know that weekends spent at the beach soaking up the sun will have to wait until next year. I can't really complain though because I really had such an awesome and exciting summer. Between vacationing to Punta Cana, flying out to Cali for work, relaxing down in LBI with my fam, driving to Newport to visit C, tanning at the beach, date nights with my boyfriend, and everything else in between, this summer has been completely amazing. Can I get a woo woo for the long weekend?! I'm very excited to have a few days off to end summer but so sad to see one of my favorite seasons come to an end. I can definitely smile and reminisce about all of the amazing memories that I made this summer though. This weekend will be filled with time spent at the beach (LBI one last time!), good  friends, good food, and of course a little R&R (mani/pedi this afternoon with mom and a special guest)! Hope you all enjoyed your summers...now go enjoy what's left of it!

Sparklers

Current obsession: glittery nails. Okay, glittery everything (seen here in yesterday's post). Seriously. Who woulda thunk it? Never in a million years would I have thought that glitter would make a comeback, but glittery nail polish? How '90s is this? I'm super happy though because I'm loving it. I  bought this Butter London polish over the weekend and it looks so cool on. It's flashy, but I love how it makes a cool, casual outfit a little glam. The best part about glittery nail polish: if you are doing a DIY mani, you can't really mess up!!

This new OPI collection (designed for the new Muppet movie!) is what sparked my interest. What do you think?
