Friday Happiness

taken from here
I'm feeling relief as this week comes to a close. It wasn't that the week felt super long (quite honestly it seemed to fly by, now that I look back on it), I just felt a lot of personal stress this week and am happy to have the weekend to relax. It seems as though the weather will be nice, so I'm looking forward to sitting out on my deck--with my puppy of course--and finishing up the third book of 50 Shades of Grey. If you haven't read it yet ladies, do so. It's addicting, enticing, and totally catches you off guard. The writing isn't go great, but the story line will whisk you away to an amazing fantasy.

Happy weekend to you all!!

Editorial Crush

I came across this amazing editorial in the May 2012 issue of Marie Claire US. We shot a similar story here at Fitness for our June issue a few weeks back. I know you guys are going to love it. It's hot, sexy, sporty, and desert-y. Until then, I'll leave you with this...

Wardrobe Wednesday

I took a little trip down to the Jersey Shore outlets on Saturday, and found myself walking away with a few key wardrobe pieces for the summer. I have to say, outlet shopping isn't so bad, if you are looking for a good deal! I picked up a few things at J.Crew, but I found these adorable bangles at the Kate Spade store, and have not taken them off all week. I love how versatile they are, and I think they are pure understated beauty.

White Out

Warm weather means that summer is near, and one of my favorite things to wear in the summer is white. It always manages to show off a good tan! White shorts, a colored tee, and a denim jacket, and flip-flops...pure beach-side summer perfection. Take me to the shore now!

Since I can't justify wearing white pants or shorts just yet (no shame to those of you who do, it's a personal thing!), I've decided that a white handbag is a close second to channeling your inner summer goddess, without getting too beachy, too early in the game. Here are some of my favs...now if only I had the paycheck to afford them all!

I Run Because I Can

Yesterday I completed my second half marathon, and I have to say, it feels so good to say that. Nothing compares to the feeling that you have when you cross the finish line after pounding the pavement for 13.1 miles. Joy, pain, excitement, and most of all accomplishment.

I ran the More/Fitness Women's Half Marathon for the second year in a row (the largest women's half marathon in the country!) and am so proud of myself for finishing, yet again. I didn't train nearly as hard I did last year, but I made it through alive and still pumping! The course is through Central Park, and anyone who is familiar with it, will know that the hills are killer. A+ for me and everyone who ran yesterday morning! My body completely hates me today, as a consequence. Buuuut I'm treating myself to a massage later at Bliss...can't beat that!!

Congrats to all the amazing women out there who finished yesterday. Whether it was your first, or your 20th race, you rock! So proud to have taken part in this amazing event. Until next year...

Here are some insta pics from yesterday. What a perfect day for a run in the park:

Wardrobe Wednesday

This look is actually my outfit from yesterday, and I really loved the way the chambray and dark denim looked together. I wore a leopard belt and my fav dvf nude/leopard flats, to give the blue hues some punch. With an army green jacket and my orange michael kors bag, I totally loved my complete look!

Color My Life With the Chaos of Color

It's no surprise that I have an obsession with color, but what I love even more, is pairing bright colors with neutral pieces. I love when color pops against a neutral palate, especially in accessories--specifically shoes. I've been addicted to these hot pink Michael Kors flats all season, (seriously can't get enough) but I'm obsessed with how they kick a normal every day outfit up a notch. It makes for a fun and unexpected punch of color...a great conversation piece too! That being said, I'm totally loving all of these neutral shoes that have just the right amount of color. They are perfect for brightening up a gloomy day, or just adding to an already cheery mood :) My favorite pair ? The Loeffler Randall wicker wedges with the neon trim. Sexyyyy!
