Luxury Jones Boots

So I just got wind that the Luxury Jones, Just For Fun boot collection is doing a collaboration project with Free People, and I am so in love with what they have come up with. You can purchase these one-of-a-kind designs in stores and online now, and I can't help but swoon over the mashup of leather, belts, and wood. Even for the small price of $438, I think this is exactly what my wardrobe has been itching for, and the splurge may be totally necessary. Thoughts?

Did this week seem super long to anyone else? I don't know what it was, but this week felt like it was never going to end, and it was only a 4-day work week! The days were long, the nights too short. I don't get it! But regardless, the weekend is finally here, and I have to be honest, I love weekends during the summer. Between heading down to the shore to escape the city craziness, and eating lots of fresh summer foods (seafood and ice cream are my top two favs!), summertime is the best time. I'll be down at the beach on Saturday, and then up in Connecticut on Sunday with my fam to visit my 96 year-old great grandma. She's super cute and I know she will be so excited to see us all. Hopefully, pics to come from that adventure. What are your weekend plans? Whatever they are, I hope you enjoy! xx

Menswear is the New Womenswear

Seriously, he's done it again. My favorite photographer Tommy Ton (last seen here) was over in Europe at the menswear shows, capturing summer bliss. A trend thats been around for the last few seasons but that is truly prominent in Tommy's pics is the whole, "I'm a woman in a man's world" thing. From slouchy pants, to tailored blazers, the women of Europe definitely know how to show their masculine sides in a very feminine way. Take a look:

Sky High

So you guys know that I have a thing for shoes-as seen here and here- but one of the brands that I have not been able to decide if I like yet is Jeffrey Campbell. I LOVE looking at all of the styles, but I can't decide if they are too outrageous for me. Don't get me wrong, I love the height and chunkiness, but sometimes I think they are just too much for me to handle. Take a look at these...what do you think? I'm in love with the american flag platforms and the ankle boots.

Hats are one of those accessories that you can either totally pull off, or totally not. If you are a hat person though, one of your must have summer accessories is the straw fedora. Perfect for a day at the beach or strolling around town, the fedora can make you look chic and totally summer-esque. Remember though that this is a day time look ONLY. Wearing your fedora on date-night with your hubby or out to for a night of dancing with the girls was soooo Britney Spears circa 2001, definitely don't want to make that mistake again. 


Here are a few key points to remember when looking for your perfect fedora:

• The brim should sit just above your eyebrows; any lower and the hat will swallow you whole. 
• You should choose a fedora based on the proportions of your body; small, petite frames should opt for a smaller brim, while curvy body types should look for wider brims
• How your hair is worn with your fedora is crucial- a side-swept pony will make the look totally effortless
•  Have fun with color and patterns. There are a ton awesome prints, colors and styles out there so be adventurous

I <3 short weeks. And national holidays like the 4th of July make them that much more special. So looking forward to catching some rays down the shore-since my vacation to Punta Cana left me with a pretty solid base tan, I am proud to say that I am the darkest that I have ever been this early in the summer!-seeing fireworks, playing mini golf (i hope!!) and hopefully eating lots of good food :) Have a happy and safe 4th!
