Wardrobe Wednesday

My favorite color is orange, although I rarely ever wear it (contrary to what you may think!), and summertime seems to be the perfect time to adopt a new palette. I paired a silky orange BCBGeneration dress (similar style here) with a neon yellow belt, to create a fun citrus-y look. I'm loving this bright and fresh color combo, especially since the sun has decided to take another hiatus today...come on sun!!

No Tanlines Here

It's officially summer (ahhh!!), and if you recall, I've been waiting for this season for quite a while. I made my first shore trip of the summer over the weekend, and I'm looking forward to many more as the season continues!

Since summer means lots of sunshine, I'm always conscious of what I'm wearing to the beach to avoid tanlines. Call me crazy, but I hate them! So to maximize my tanning space, I usually stick to bandeau bikinis when I'm lounging poolside or splashing between waves. What's your favorite bikini style?

Wardrobe Wednesday

Today's look makes me feel like a poster child for J.Crew. I got this outfit back in March on a mini birthday shopping trip with my mom. I'm totally in love with the color of the shirt (my fav color is orange!), and these shorts are super comfy and cute. One of my favorite pieces though is the braided belt. So nautical..typical me.

Hoping everyone is enjoying the much nicer weather today. When I heard that the temps were going to reach 80, I couldn't help but bust out my shorts! Cheers to summer!

To My Mom

Anyone who has met my mother can tell you that she is one of the most hardworking people that they know. She is always on the run, always making plans, and is always looking out for everyone else, putting herself on the back burner.

I have always admired my mom's strength, and hope that I am just as strong as she is. Her willpower, determination, and persistence have helped to shape who I am today, and I appreciate all of the times that she has pushed me to work harder, and do better.

Without my mom, I don't know where I would be today. She has always been the best shoulder to cry on, the best ears to listen to my grief, the best arms to hug, and best smile to laugh with. My mom is my best friend.

Thank you mom for always being there for me. I love you with all my heart. Happy Mother's Day <3

For Rhode Island

I consider Rhode Island to be my home away from home. Which is why, when I found this little gem on Pinterest, I got somewhat nostalgic. Words like block island, narragansettripta, ocean state, kingston, uri, dels, and waterfire bring back amazing memories of my 4 years in the tiny state, and I'm super excited to head back up there in a few weeks for one of my best friend's graduation from pharmacy school. For anyone who has ever experienced Rhode Island, this is for you...

A Summer Love

I'm desperately awaiting summer's arrival so that I can live it the way these girls from the Free People look book are. They seem so happy, with not a care in the world, just the way summer's supposed to be.

Friday Happiness

TGIF! So happy for this gloomy week to come to an end. I'm looking forward to what I hope will be a sunshine filled weekend, crammed with a new hairstyle (I always get super giddy when I have an appointment at the salon), Cinco de Mayo festivities, and of course the usual weekend chores. Maybe even some baking too ;)

My weekly happiness...

-silly boyfriend in my glasses :)-

-anchor <3-

-teal nails. hesitant at first, but liking now-

Beachin'

I have the beach on my brain and I'm eagerly awaiting my first trip down to the shore this summer. Since Memorial Day is just a few weeks away, I don't have to wait too long, but I have to pray for nice weather! It's time to get my tan on! (Oy, do I sound like Snooki from The Jersey Shore?!)

Since I'm craving salty water in my hair, sand between my toes, and tan lines, I figured I'd put together a little round up of some beach-worthy pieces that I'm totally lusting after for the summer. Seems like they'd would be more appropriate for the South of France or Tahiti, but a girl can dream can't she?

Wardrobe Wednesday

It was quite hard not to want to stay in bed all day with this dreary NYC weather. I think April showers have been delayed for May. Not sure that I'm a fan of it. Isn't it supposed to be warm and sunny now??

Regretfully, I had to leave my pjs behind, and opted for my favorite green 7FAM cargo pants. I paired it with a nude, silk, rose printed Rebecca Taylor peplum top, some neutral heels, and some rose gold jewelry. It's simple and romantic, but still comfy enough for this grey day.

Bright Lights with Earnest Sewn

A few months back, we were editing through some samples that we had called in for a cover shoot (with Elle Macpherson--on stands now!) when I came across the perfect pair of colored denim. Ever. Thank you Earnest Sewn. The color was amazing, the stretch was just right, and I became totally obsessed. I emailed my friend who does PR for ES, needing to know when the jeans would be available online to purchase. I'm telling you, I was obsessed.

As soon as I was able to, I pre-ordered the jeans in hot pink--if I was going to get color, I was going to go all out. The color was even better than I had remembered (so neon and vibrant), and it has been hard not to wear them all the time. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be known as 'the girl with the hot pink pants' on the subway by the time summer ends. I'm okay with that though.
